What is the Home  League?

The idea of the Home League originated in England with Mrs. General Bramwell Booth.  It was launched at the Cambridge Heath Corps in London.  Mrs. General Edward Higgins was responsible for organizing the first official meeting in Leytonstone,  England in 1907.

It is now one of the largest organizations for women in the world.   Membership in the Home League is open to women 16 years of age and over who have attended a minimum of four meetings, not necessarily consecutively.

The purpose of the Home League is fourfold:  1. The Personal Improvement of the Individual, 2. The Strengthening of Spiritual Life in the Home, 3. The Advancement of The Salvation Army through the Enrollment of Soldiers, 4.  The betterment of the Community, the Nation, and the world.

The Salt Lake Home League meets at The Salvation Army at 438 South 900 West  every Wednesday at 10:00 AM.

SALT LAKE Sunday Services held at 438 South 900 West., Sunday School 9:30 a.m., Worship 10:45 a.m.

Since 1865, when William Booth found the Salvation Army, the Army’s doctrine has followed the mainstream of Christian belief and its articles of faith emphasizing God’s saving purposes.

The Salvation Army is dedicated to the caring for the poor, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, loving the unlovable and befriending those who have no friends. This dedication has produced an international network of helpful ministries.
